Filming for the History Channel
This filming was for a program called Command Decisions  which was aired on the History Channel.  The specific topic was William the Conqueror and the decisions he made at the Battle of Hastings.  We played the roles of both the Saxons and Normans by switching equipment during the shooting.  Most of us are part of Regia Anglorum and were contacted by the studio through the organization.
A very important part of any medieval battle - the signing of the waivers!   We had to agree that if we got hurt it was our own fault.  By the end of a long day of shooting we had a considerable pile of broken steel weapons - but we were all in one piece.
Henrik is asked to play the role of William!  Here he discusses strategy and his decision making regarding the battle..
Taking a break inbetween takes. It was a lot of fun but it got a bit warm in our armor!
This was another filming for for the History Channel and a program called The Conquerors.  It was hosted by Dale Dye (Saving Private Ryan, Under Siege,. Band of Brothers and more). The specific topic of our episode was (you guessed it) William the Conqueror!
Our shield wall (it looked longer in the sequence!)
Henrik had a great shot riding across the field and spearing a watermellon, and then chopping it in half with a sword!
